Is iPad a 'netbook killer'?

Thom Campbell, US Media Manager for Intel Corp., is on camera saying he believes the iPad will make the netbook obsolete. Watch the video, but then also read the comments posted at FORA.tv (http://bit.ly/9RsiWV) by people who disagree with him. Fascinating discussion about the limits of the iPad.

Fiction for your cell phone

According to a report by CNN, you can now read fiction books on your cell phone using the phone's Web browser or via text messaging. http://bit.ly/9bDef3

Fascinating. I moderated the "Future of the Industry" panel discussion just before ICRS this year and the question of doing a fiction blog came up, composed of either individual short stories or short chapters of an ongoing story.

Could be a kind of never-ending story, like a soap opera. This seems to be another expression of the same creative impulse. And also a good way to help promote a beginning fiction author, or one stuck in the mid-list, and help them find new readers. - Dave Lambert

How to leverage change

Here's an interesting quote from Miles Nadal, the Chairman & CEO of MDC Partners (advertising company) about how to leverage change.

"Change is the only constant you can be assured of, whether you believe in it or not. If you hope to make change your ally, if you hope to deploy new ideas with the kind of speed and agility that will give you a competitive advantage, you need to be part of enacting tomorrow's change instead of reacting to yesterday's. The only way to do that consistently and well is by gaining an appreciation of the hidden, underlying forces driving the trends that are visible to all."
